    Responsibilities
    Manage a specific sales territory in the USA and other markets as opportunities arise.
     
    Key Responsibilities
    Gaining incremental sales of irrigation technologies via irrigation and landscape contractors and through distributors, by changing/modifying established paradigms using newer, more effective, efficient, and environmentally responsible irrigation technologies and practices.
     
    The Candidate
    • Grow Distribution support using grower demand for Signature products.
    • Prospect existing relationships in either of the golf, turf or commercial irrigation business segments.
    • Customer relationship establishment/management.
    • Technical selling services to end-users, designers, contractors and distributors.
    • Manage, maintain, and grow the base business in the assigned regional geography.
    • Must possess a strong understanding of irrigation control systems as well as sound knowledge of professional irrigation products overall.
    • Prospect for and present value propositions to users using Signature products to improve landscapes, irrigation practices, efficiency and satisfaction.
    • Establish relationships with local distributors initially using product "pull through" to create partners that will begin to actively support and sell Signature products to end users.
    • Mentor/manage contractor and distributor relationships supporting and growing product demand at both levels for Signature products.
    • Provide technical support to end use customers on the use of Signature Share technology.
    • Prospect for new opportunity business segments within the assigned region and other markets as arises.
    • Must have the ability to build relationships both internal and external.
    • Set proper trial protocols against the competition and other technologies.
    • Steward all products to assure their proper sale, installation and use.
    • Know and understand the financial expectations of the sales budget.
    • Complete participation and embracement of sales planning & tracking tools.
     
    The Candidate Skill Set
    • Bachelor's degree in business, electrical engineering, marketing or related field experience in irrigation sales or control automation sales outside of the irrigation industry.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • PC Skills to include: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Map Point
    • Must have excellent decision making and problem solving skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to contribute in a team setting while being an effective self-starter able to manage daily activities to achieve long term goals.
    • Must be able to manage personal goals and corporate objectives while keeping a customer centric focus.
    • Must be able to travel up to 70% mainly within the assigned region. Some in other markets also as opportunities arise.

    Previous Experience
    • Existing relationships at multiple levels in either of the golf, turf or commercial irrigation business segments an advantage.
    • Sales experience with any of the following named products would be preferred : Johnson Controls, Pool Corporation, Zodiac Pool Systems, Hunter, Rain Bird, Orbit, Irritrol, Toro, Weathermatic, DIG Products, K Rain.
